Continuous hinges, sometimes called piano hinges, are narrow and feature a series of overlapping knuckles that run the entire length of the door or lid on which they are mounted. The long length distributes the load over a large area, enabling the hinge and mounting material to remain relatively thin in material thickness and width.
A continuous hinge is useful for applications where the hardware must remain compact and as unobtrusive as possible, such as on a piano lid. Other gauges, widths, lengths, and pin materials can be made to order.
